Library receives grant.



Great news! Our school received a grant of $2,500 from James Patterson and Scholastic Reading Club to help our school library. We want to thank #PattersonPledge for getting books into the hands of our students. Since 2015, James Patterson is has donated $3.5 million of his own money to save under-funded school libraries nationwide. Thank you!


Special Board Meeting

On Dec. 6th, the School Board would like to invite the public to a special board meeting in regards to the future of Mt. Olive High School football. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. in the junior high gym. The meeting will be an open meeting and members of the public body will be allowed to approach the board with their comments during this event.

Volleyball Team Wins

The high school girls volleyball team won their first sectional game. They will play on Thursday night at Jacksonville Routt. The game is at 6 against Springfield Lutheran. Come out and support your Lady Wildcats.

Congratulations to the High school Volleyball team on winning Regionals on Thursday night. They next play in the sectional on Tuesday, November 1 at Jacksonville Routt against New Berlin.

Tail Gate September 23



The Mt. Olive School District is having a Tailgate Party on Friday, September 23 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. All students and their families are invited to come out to the Elementary School Parking Lot and enjoy some family friendly fun before cheering on the Wildcats in the game against Kincaid. Activities will include making spirit shakers, a selfie station, outdoor games, and more.

You may bring your own snacks, or purchase items in support of the JH Track Team at their food stand. All are reminded that alcohol and tobacco products are not allowed on school grounds.

Any student in attendance will have their name entered in a drawing for door prizes, and will receive FREE admission to the game (5th grade and under must be accompanied by an adult). Door prizes will include an autographed football from the MOHS Wildcats, autographed MOJH/MOHS cheer calendar, and Wildcat/Bomber Spirit gear. We hope to see you there!



Don Dobrino Appreciation Weekend



Come join everyone in celebrating Coach Dobrino Appreciation Weekend.


The Macoupin County Public Health Department will be at the school library on September 8 3-6pm for school physicals and immunizations. If you have any questions, please call the school at 839-7831 extension 102.

Character and Leadership Workshop



The school will sponsor a character and leadership workshop focused on improving student success for the parent/guardians of students in the Mt. Olive School District. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, August 30th from 6pm to 7pm in the Jr. High Gym. Childcare will be provided during the workshop with the assistance of the National Honor Society members. Doors open at 5:45pm. Funding for this wonderful opportunity has been provided by the Mt. Olive Academic Foundation.


Volleyball Girls win Roxana Tournament

The Mt. Olive Girls Volleyball team won the Roxana Tournament today. They defeated Marquette and Father McGiveny in pool play, Jerseyville in the semi-final game and then Calhoun in the championship game. Congratulations girls!


Cheer Camp Participants Performance

Cheer camp participants will be performing on Friday, August 26th during halftime.

High School Volleyball

High School Volleyball practice will begin on Wednesday, August 10th from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 a.m. Practice will be held at the same time on both Thursday and Friday, August 11th and 12th. In order for your student to participate in practice, the student must have an up to date sports physical on file, filled out the athletic participation form, and have a signed IHSA concussion form. The forms can be found on this website under the registration tab on the home screen.

Registration

Registration has been set for Wednesday, August 10th and Thursday, August 11th. Registration will be open from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. We ask that all incoming juniors and seniors report for registration on August 10th and all freshmen and sophomores report on August 11th. Please note that this is a change from the original set dates and times. The first day of school for students will be Tuesday, August 23rd and will be a 2:00 p.m. early dismissal. Registration forms will be posted on this website in the very near future. Please check back for additional information.

Campbell Soup Labels/Coke Tops/Box Tops for Education

Turn in your holiday green bean casserole labels! We are also collecting any campbell soup labels, coke tops and Box tops for Education to the office. Anyone can donate, however the class that donates the most will receive a free snack in the cafeteria.

Parents and students, in order to avoid potential long waits at registration, you can complete and print most registration forms from our school website. You can then bring them with you to registration already filled out. The Registration Forms tab is located on the left-hand side of the district website: mtoliveschools.org.
The following forms should be completed, printed and turned in at registration:

Existing District Student: Existing Student Registration Form, Handbooks and Policies Checklist, Field Trip and Medical Release Form, Emergency Action Card, Athletic Participation & Emergency Action Form (good for all sports), Student/Parent/Teacher Compact (High School only)
